Every chef knows that wood and bamboo make the best food prepping surfaces and that a good chopping block is an investment well deserving of protecting, since wood and bamboo both dry out over time, which causes warping and cracking. The answer is to use a moisturizing and nourishing oil-based wax, but unfortunately the solution most companies have come up with includes the use of mineral oil, a cheap byproduct of the petroleum industry, which is not something we feel we should be slathering all over our wood prep surfaces. Instead, we created our own formula consisting of expeller pressed grapeseed oil, beeswax, carnauba wax. So nourishing and safe in fact, that we recommend applying the stuff with your hands and using any excess as a skin conditioner.
