Spring Vendor Feature - Hopenhagen Farm!

This month, we are featuring Hopenhagen Farm, our vendor for dried lavender, lavender candles, and lavender spices! Read on for a description of their farm in their own words:

Hopenhagen Farm was born from the idea of utilizing our farmland after we both retire. With a collection of useful knowledge, and a lot of physical labor, we successfully planted Cascade and Newport hops in the Spring of 2014. The idea of Hopenhagen Farm became a reality.

Along with hops we decided to start growing lavender in 2016. To date we have 1800 Phenomenal, Munstead, Big Blue, Edelweiss, Melissa Lilac, Provence, Super Blue, Sensational and Hidcote lavender species.

In May, 2017, we opened a specialty store at our farm which specializes in hop and lavender products including a forever evolving product line of soaps, grooming products, a children’s line, pet supplies and culinary delights. Our farm features our Lavender Wine made with our own harvested lavender.

We completed a 20-C kitchen and opened The Tea Room in the spring of 2018. We offer a beautiful room for events and tea parties. The 20-C kitchen enables us to dry our lavender as a culinary grade product. Additionally in 2018 we became a participant of New York Grown and Certified.

During the summer of 2021 we invested in distillery equipment. This gives us the unique ability to produce our very own essential oils and hydrosol on site, using our own lavender species.

Hopenhagen Farm is part of the Lewis County Cuisine Trail and Adirondack Harvest. We are proud supporting members of the Hop Growers of New York and the US Lavender Growers Association.

Our long-term vision is to create a sustainable hands-on farm experience with quality hops and lavender offerings in a family friendly environment. Our store showcases wonderful products that you will remember us long after you leave. The Tea Room offers a one-of-a-kind experience for events and tea parties.

We are open 9-4 on Fridays and Saturdays from Mother’s Day to Christmas or by appointment. The Tea Room is open by reservation only, and availability is limited. Our annual Lavender Festival is on July 9, 2022 with over 70 craft and food vendors and you-cut lavender. We look forward to welcoming you and your families to our farm in Copenhagen, NY.
